Individual Therapy
Individual Session
60 min & 90 min
Have you ever sat down with a therapist and as soon as your thoughts and feelings begin to flow, time’s up?! In my experience, 90 min sessions provided every other week can be more effective. The 90 min session is designed to give you more time to warm up and prepare yourself to start working through more sensitive topics. It’s also a great way to get started with an initial session as we’re covering history and getting acquainted. However, the traditional 60 min session is always an option and billable by BCBS.*
What is Trauma?
Did you know that the actual definition of Trauma is “a deeply distressing or disturbing experience” (Definition from Oxford Languages)? Often when we think of trauma we think of events involving violence or disaster, i.e. rape, abuse, death, national disaster, mass shooting or any event that might be universally experienced as traumatizing. Those in the helping profession might refer to this as “Big T” trauma. In actuality, trauma could include just about anything. Trauma is about your perception and experience. “Little t” trauma might include bullying, divorce, betrayal, getting robbed, terminal illness or anything that you experience as distressing or disturbing.
Individual Intensive
3 hours
We will use Experiential Therapy to accomplish more of your therapeutic goals in less time. Similar to a good work out, to do effective therapeutic work, we start by doing a good emotional warm up then we can dig into some of your therapeutic goals with time to “cool down” at the end. If this peaks your interest, give me a call and we will discuss the best treatment plan for you.
*Still Waters Therapy LLC is only able to bill BCBS of Alabama for Individual 6o min sessions.
relationship Therapy
Couple, Family, Peer Relationship Session
60min, 90 min & 120 min
Bring your significant other, your partner, your parent, your sibling, your child or anyone that you want to invest in a healthy relationship. It can be challenging for two people to coordinate their schedules, so when you’re able to get a session in, let’s make the most of it! I recommend a 90 min session every week or two or a 120 min session once or twice a month.

AF-EMDR can be used for clients with severe early attachment trauma, as well as for all clients who require that the therapist attend to their needs as unique individuals. AF-EMDR has five guiding principles that define it” which include safety, relationship, client-centered, resource tapping and modified EMDR.
